Dogs
Dottie is a rescue from ACCT Philly in 2018, and we have no history on her. We do know that she loves being all bundled up (even on a warm day), and she loves food. Fortunately, since we provide plenty of both of those things, she loves us too.
Freddy is a rescue from Paws for Life in 2024. He loves being a good boy and getting tummy rubs. Our biggest complaint is that we spend a lot of time giving tummy rubs.
Horses
Oofy is a 16 year old registered sport horse. He is a homebred holsteiner/thoroughbred cross. He is very handsome, but he is also an asshole. Do not be fooled by his cuteness. He likes to bite.
Nelly was adopted in 2022 from the Phoenix Farm and Animal Sanctuary. As she was rescued from a kill pen, we do not have a history on her. But she has seen some shit and is grateful everyday for her second chance. She also doesn't take Oofy's shit, and we love her even more for that.
Lilly is an 18 year old purebred thoroughbred. She has never raced, which is good because she is very clumsy. She is also not a smart horse, operating on a 2 minute delay, but we love her anyway.
Pigs
Patty and Abner are potbellied pigs adopted from the Pig Placement Network in 2024. Patty loves to explore and is the boss of everyone.
Abner is a scaredy pig and runs from everything except cuddles. He loves cuddles.
Goats
Dot (aka Momma) is a 10yr old Saanen mix. She is an experienced mother though not a very good one. She is very smart, but apparently that trait is not genetic in this line of goats.
In 2022, Momma gave birth to Daisy and Walter.
Daisy is very cute but is scared to death of everything...yet somehow still manages to get her head stuck all the time.
Walter is the exact opposite. He is interested in everything, and he has not gotten his head stuck yet.
In 2021, Momma gave birth to Bessie and GusGus. In 2022, Bessie gave birth to Betty. Despite being a baby herself, Bessie loves being a mom.
Betty is just so sweet and adorable. She is our favorite of the goats.
GusGus and Chester (not pictured) are the largest goats. Chester is over 200lbs! Chester kinda sucks, but GusGus is our little buddy. He loves pets and treats, and until his recent medical procedure, he liked to impregnant his mother (Momma) and his sister (Bessie). He is an indifferent father-brother-uncle (half-sibling perhaps?) to Walter, Daisy, and Betty.
Cats (just a few of them)
Elsie (aka Shitten) is 1 year old. She was found at a restaurant along Rt 30 and was just a few weeks old - most likely she was dumped. We took her in and that might have been a mistake because she is a little terrorist. Always demands treats and the rest of the animals (including the dogs) are scared of her.
Muriel and Cyrus are littermates. They came to us as kittens from a feral mother. Muriel loves attention, but only from a distance. She hates being petted, but she doesn't mind getting kicked in the middle of the night while sleeping on your feet.
Mr. Derp is an older cat and our most expensive one to date. We found him living on the 3rd floor of our barn. His teeth were so bad that his tongue hung out of him mouth (and he looked derpy). We eventually caught him and got him the very expensive oral care that he needed - he feels so much better. Like most cats though, instead of being grateful, he is entitled. It is no longer our bed, it is his, and we don't have the heart to make him move.
He prefers to be called "Big Kitty Cyrus" even though he is not the biggest cat that we have. Cyrus has no fear and will flop down on his back for belly rubs from anyone. Cyrus also thinks that he runs this place as he has trained everyone to give him food, but everyone knows that Elsie is the top cat.
And the rest
There are several different kinds of chickens: Buff/Lavender Orphingtons, Barred Rocks, Jersey Giants, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Rhode Island Reds, Speckled Sussex, Seabright Bantams, a Silkie. There are 4 roosters too though 2 are bantams and don't really count. When it comes to chickens, size matters.
Ducks suck. They are dirty, smelly, and are really into violent gang rapes. But they were very cute as babies.
There are 8 guinea pigs. They have their own room in the house, but every now and then, they get to share it with a sick/injured chicken. They love to squeak for fresh fruits/veggies all day. You would think that it would get annoying, but it is still cute.
There are a couple of peacocks and peahens. The males are India Blues so when they turn 2 years old, they should have some pretty feathers (and have an annoyingly loud call). Don't worry though, the attitude and sass developed early.
